Details

TransMEA, organized in cooperation with Egypt’s ministry of transport took place in November 07-10, 2021, bringing together regional and international players to showcase leading solutions, advanced trends, innovative products, and new technologies for more efficient and even faster transport and logistics services. Innovations create a vital impact on the way we move people and goods. Digital technology, a rather vital element in driving transport innovation, optimization, and improvident across the industry, encompassing data analytics, AI, machine learning, cyber security, automation, digital transformation and disruptive technologies explored at TransMEA 2021.

TransMEA was strongly supported by Egypt’s government, regional and international organizations which contribute to the growth and continued success of this pivotal industry. It features a stellar line-up of speakers, presentations, case studies and panel discussions providing access to a wealth of industry leading knowledge, information exchange, cutting-edge insights and outlooks with actionable takeaways.

Hitachi Rail, participated in TransMea.
TransMea is under sponsorship of the egyptian president and fully attended by the minister of transport and all rail business related entities in Egypt.

Hitachi Activities

Hitachi Rail Ltd., was a solid contributor to the summit through the following activities:

Hitachi Rail had a booth of 80 sqm size, and promoted its solutions and references within the rail control, the operation, services & maintenance and within the design and manufacturing of the rolling stock. We also promoted our engagement towards a more sustainable railway supported by our partnership at COP26 event in Glasgow in 2021.

Hitachi Products & Solutions:

Hitachi Rail Ltd. was a solid contributor to the summit through the following products and solutions:

Perpetuum is a Hitachi solution, delivering solutions that utilise pioneering digital technology to optimise railway operations, offering improved efficiency, safety and quality of service.
The Perpetuum solution utilises wireless condition monitoring to spot faults, allowing them to be fixed before they delay passengers’ journeys. Once they are installed on trains, Perpetuum’s self-powering digital sensors detect on-board vibrations and send back real-time data about the performance of critical train parts – e.g. wheel sets, gearboxes, motors or bogies – as well as the track faster and more accurately than traditional condition-monitoring approaches.

There are plenty of definitions out there, but at its core for me is that we can deliver better passenger experience, as part of a more efficient public transport system.
It’s about putting the passenger first.
The ‘MaaS’ model is delivered by connecting all aspects of the mobility ‘experience’ through digital platforms. This goes beyond rail, but includes other forms of transport such as buses, electric vehicles and more.
