GCC Power 2021 had one of the most power packed virtual conference sessions which ran concurrently for two consecutive days from 25th to 27th of October. The e-conference brought together the officials and decision makers from the electricity sector of the GCC countries to communicate and exchange their views along with jointly plan with the leading local, regional and international consultants, manufacturers, contractors and suppliers about the future of electrical power in the region.

Condition Assessment of Bushings in the Field

Dielectric Frequency Response analysis (DFR), also known as Frequency Domain Spectroscopy (FDS) is a very sensitive diagnostic tool to identify abnormality in capacitance graded bushings.
The study includes a short introduction to DFR analysis for bushing diagnostics and shows basic approaches for measurement results interpretation. It also provides examples of DFR traces obtained on bushings of the following design: Oil Impregnated Paper (OIP), Resin Impregnated Paper (RIP) and Resin Impregnated Synthetic (RIS).
