In parallel, we deliver automotive components to aftermarket globally. In the MENA market, our aftermarket are available through local distributor across. They include the widely-used and well-known “TOKICO” brand shock absorber and “PARAUT” brand engine parts/mechanical parts. (including ignition coils, air flow sensors and starter motors) and “Hitachi” brake pads. In the Mid-Term Plan, Hitachi Astemo plans to work more closely with the customers of MENA market to provide competitive models to satisfy consumer demands.

Brake Pad
Automotive Systems BusinessBrake Pad is to generate breaking power by squeezing revolving rotor which combines with wheel. Squeezing power goes to break pedal → booster → master cylinder → caliper. Piston in caliper is to be pushed by brake fluid, and it pushes to Brake Pad. Brake Pad is composed by friction materials and plate. It blends more than 10 kinds of material, and brings out necessary characteristic.
Ignition Coils
Automotive Systems BusinessAn ignition coil is an induction coil that transforms the 12-volt current from a battery into the high-voltage current required by spark plugs to ignite the combustible gas. The ignition coil consists of a primary coil and a secondary coil, each with a different number of wires turns. The primary coil generates a magnetic field with the battery voltage and by using this magnetic field; the secondary coil will have tens of thousands of volts of induced current. Hitachi Automotive Systems’ ignition coil is designed to be closer to the spark plug, providing the most efficient spark and reducing the need for spark plug wires.

Water Pump

Circulating coolant water keeps the engine material sturdy, the lubricant oil temperature constant, cool down automatic transmission fluid and turbocharger. It is activated by timing belt of engine, chain, V-belt, etc. Mechanical seal is built into Water Pump to prevent water leakage to outside.
Electronic Throttle Bodies ETB
Automotive Systems BusinessThe electronic throttle body (ETB) is a main part of an electronic throttle control (ETC) system. The ETB controls the volume of air flowing into the engine. It features a butterfly valve which opens and closes according to a signal from the engine control unit. Instead of a traditional throttle body with an accelerator cable, Hitachi Automotive Systems’ ETB utilizes a microcomputer to control the valve opening quickly and precisely. Precision is essential to keep engine torque at a constant level when changing the air/fuel ratio. A more accurate ETB translates to improved fuel economy and emissions performance.

Mass Air Flow Sensor MAF
Automotive Systems BusinessThe Air Flow Sensor (MAF) is located in the intake air stream and measures the mass of air entering the engine. The hot wire component of the MAF cools when air mass flows past. The electronic circuit component measures this change in temperature and converts it to a voltage or frequency signal. This signal is sent to the engine control unit to determine how much fuel to deliver to the engine so the vehicle can maintain optimal performance. Hitachi Automotive Systems’ MAF accurately controls the engine’s air/fuel ratio for improved fuel economy and reduced emissions.
